Hi AJ,
My name is Jason Lange, I’m the Head Lacrosse Coach at the University of Montevallo. We are a new NCAA Division II program that will begin competition in the 2017-2018 school year. AJ, after watching you play I think you can help us build something special here at the University of Montevallo.

The University of Montevallo is a public Liberal Arts Institution (1 of 27 in North America) located in Central Alabama, 30 minutes south of Birmingham and just hours from the beaches of the Gulf Coast. We are a University of about 3,000 students, whose small college town atmosphere makes us the focal point of the region. Our student body is made up of 65% females and 35% males. If you are not from Alabama; in addition to academic scholarships, if you have a 3.0 cumulative weighted GPA and a 23 ACT (1130 new/1050 old SAT) you qualify for in state tuition, room and board.

For the fifth consecutive year the University of Montevallo has been named a College of Distinction (http://collegesofdistinction.com/what-is-a-college-of-distinction/), one of only two universities in the state of Alabama to receive this accolade. The University of Montevallo offers 37 degree programs with over 70 majors in four colleges: College of Arts and Sciences, Michael E. Stephens College of Business (AACSB Accredited), College of Education, and the College of Fine Arts.

Our latest data has shown that Montevallo has a placement rate of over 85% for students entering medical programs after they graduate. For business students who choose to enter the Grainger Center for Professional Practice, over 90% of students are placed in a paid internship during their time at Montevallo.

In 2015-2016, 11 different programs qualified for postseason play, in addition 4 programs earned bids to compete in the NCAA Division II Tournament. Student-Athletes exceled not only on the playing field at Montevallo, but in the classroom as well. In the 2015-2016 school year student-athletes at UM held an average GPA of a 3.19, and a record 206 athletes were placed on the Conference Presidential Honor Roll.

AJ, The University of Montevallo is committed to the success of Men’s Lacrosse. I know that having talented players like yourself along with our great facilities will help us build our Men’s Lacrosse Program into a contender on the national level.
I would love the opportunity to show you all that the University of Montevallo has to offer, including our brand new locker room facility, 97,000 square foot 14 million dollar athletic center, and why our campus was voted one of the 20 most beautiful public institutions in the Country. Our spring visit weekends are Saturday February 25th, Saturday March 11th, Saturday April 22nd and Saturday May 13th.
